ObjectWay has developed a solution for the provision of wealth management services by Private Banks that
fully meet the most advanced requirements of institutional clients,
monitoring compliance with extremely flexible investment rules and restrictions.
The solution consists of two components: ObjectWay
Portfolio Manager and ObjectWay Portfolio Administrator.
ObjectWay Portfolio Manager assists portfolio managers in decision making and execution tasks by supporting construction of model portfolios,
portfolio valuation, risk assessment and performance measurement, portfolio rebalancing, investment rule compliance, order management as well as reporting.

- Reports for relationship managers, portfolio managers, clients and compliance;
- Risk-performance indicators, performance attribution.

ObjectWay Portfolio Administrator, built on the ObjectWay Smit2 Suite, has a modular, flexible and extendible, multicurrency and multilingual structure superimposed on multichannel scalable and secure architecture.
This solution for asset management units comprises:
- Management of client transactions;
- Compliance monitoring;
- Calculation of management fees;
- Generation of reports in the format required by national authorities;
- Taxation;
- Regulatory reports.
The solution also features ObjectWay Smit2 generic functions used for both securities safekeeping portfolios and discretionary portfolios:
- Full master database of securities and corporate actions with integrated information providers;
- Order book, trading;
- Settlement management;
- Account and client master data;
- Account postings.
The solution’s strengths are:
- Thanks to a uniform application architecture and the high amount of expertise incorporated in the platform, it is possible to rapidly implement new products and services relating, for instance, to management fees, portfolio composition and investment restrictions.
- All aspects of account management such as fees, model portfolios, etc., may be grouped in classes for management purposes and it is even possible to separately configure the software for individual accounts thus offering the flexibility needed for discretionary asset management.
- The Graphical User Interface and the high-volume processing model increase productivity thus reducing operations costs.
- The SOA architecture, with hundreds of functions displayed in the form of Web Service, means that the solution can be rapidly incorporated in the client’s application ecosystem.
ObjectWay Portfolio Administrator may also be used at the middle & back office of asset management companies and banks that use third party front-ends to generate orders.

BARCLAYS
Barclays selected the ObjectWay Financial Suite components - ObjectWay Financial Planning, ObjectWay Portfolio, and ObjectWay Mifid Adequacy & Appropriateness - to support MiFID compliant advisory services for its “affluent”, “top affluent”, and “private clients”. Barclays uses the ObjectWay Financial Suite in its Italian and Spanish subsidiaries for nearly 1,000 branches. The software has been used in Italy since 2008 and will be introduced in Spain at the end of 2009. Nathalie Couveignes, Marketing Director, Barclays France and head of Barclays University for the Global Premier Banking described ObjectWay as a “scientific and holistic” support of Barclays Premiere business model that is fully compliant with MiFID and explained that the platform would soon be introduced in four other European countries.

The Italian branch of Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management selected to use the entire ObjectWay
SMIT2 software product line in its Private Banking business, adopting the ObjectWay front-office and back-office solutions for investment management of clients' safekeeping accounts and discretionary portfolios.
The solution is an integral part of the Bank’s global infrastructure. Introduction of continuous 24-hour availability eliminated business cut-offs
and accelerated data updates, thus increasing the accuracy of portfolio information provided by private bankers to their clients.
